I Gave Him Life
There is turmoil beyond your words
Inside a home confused and stirred
By unseen things inside his heart
Be still and know today we start
My work in you will light the way
Upon your son scarred hands will lay
In heart broken our love shall mend
Sayeth I the LORD, your son offends
I am the GOD that's bulletproof
Of all things that bend the truth
He is my son as well as yours
Hold fast Nixa, be reassured
I am He who made this day
For him to change what yesterday
Would bring to knees asking forgiveness
Mother, daughter, he is my business
I am the one you sought and found
Some time ago when you were bound
To things that blind the world today
Be of good cheer, he'll change his ways
It may not happen in your time
For time is mine, where he Will find
That he needs me, much more than you
Who gave him life, you gave birth to
