SAFE PASSAGE

SAFE PASSAGE

The ship looks awesome from the quay
But still can`t calm the fear in me,
A smooth sailing is what they say
No rough seas are forecast today.

~~     ~~~     ~~     ~~~     ~~

It is a huge catamaran
Built to take car, lorry and van,
We`re told to board so on we go
Into the cargo hold real slow.

~~     ~~~     ~~     ~~~     ~~

We make our way to the upper deck
There we go and find a nice speck,
The window seats are occupied
We sit in a seat just alongside.

~~     ~~~     ~~     ~~~     ~~

The Captain wishes `A good day`
And says `Soon we`ll be underway`,
Instructions come with safety tip
Then we hear `Enjoy your trip`.

~~     ~~~     ~~     ~~~     ~~

The engines start and we set sail
Farewell to England we all hail,
We`re going to see the leprechaun
The land where myth and legend was born.

~~     ~~~     ~~     ~~~     ~~

The crossing was fine I have to say
Now I`ll live to fight another day,
Back to the car must be on our way
`Cause Tipperary is a long way.
