A TWILIGHT STROLL

A TWILIGHT STROLL

Went for a walk in the fading light
The stars were starting to twinkle bright,
The cows were etched in the fields around
Their lowing noise was a lonely sound.

Bats were busy flying all around
While crickets were heard on the ground,
I heard the fox it was on the prowl
While way up high sat the wise old owl.

It was a warm night without a breeze
No wind was there to stir the trees,
The night was still the air was warm
A pleasant change after the storm.

No street lights here to spoil the night
Just the bright glow of the moonlight,
The silvery beams lit the way for me
This is the country life you see.

In the black sky the stars that shine bright
Are out in their millions tonight,
They fill the sky like diamonds bright
This is a most beautiful sight.

An evening like this is very rare
With a starry sky and balmy air,
I`m glad I can walk in natures park
While all around me grows very dark.
