Email Poem | Today's Poetry

 Heaven's Highway
Dear Jo, with hope you will receive this note
In poem form through one who wrote
What I could not for you my dear
Be strong for me, hold back those tears

I know it's hard but harder still
Is what we left behind that filled
My life with you I loved dearly
My heart this too given sincerely

Although four years seems not enough
Today you'll need to toughen up
To help my family get through this
Please hug and give them all a kiss

I'll miss the highways and the streets
Of Philadelphia but I'm upbeat
Because the roads where we now ride
Are blessed by GOD where I abide

There is no pain, and no more stress
There is but you, I must confess
I left behind, but not by choice
GOD called me Jo, for me rejoice

From Heaven's Highway Love always, Patrick

Dedicated to Joanne Heary
