 THE TRAVELING LIFELONG BUSH POET

Australia Mate

Photobucket

They sent them out to Australia
Mostly for things so very small-
They thought that it would break them
But instead they all stood tall-
Never was there any easy times
Times where as hard as ever known-
But they refused to give in to failure
Via all the worst winds ever blown-
There life was lost a plenty
Men , women  and child-
But they were as tough as any could be
Within their hearts remained true and mild-
A toughness it was established
and it still remains to this day-
Where do you come from they ask
Australia mate I say-
There's a longest line of backbone
A willingness to make it through-
A character that goes back down the track
Australian through true blue-
Not allowing diversity to win
Diligent all of the while-
A never being a quitter but to carry on
To last , and still stand to smile-
They sent them out for mostly the smallest things
To a land they called Australia-
Thinking it would break them then and there
But they never had any respect for failure-
A toughness was well established
And it still lasts today-
Where do you come from they ask
Australia mate I say-
