The Duty of ChildrenIt is right to obey, Their parents everyday; And be taking an oath, In honoring them both. Their life here on the earth, That their mother gave birth; All may be well for them, Branch out from a small stem. So their life may be worth, Living long on this earth; Taught wisdom and insight, For knowing what is right. Fathers must also teach, How far children can reach; Training to fear the Lord, Duty is their reward. Showing fear and respect, When adult can affect; Through the toils and strife, For the rest of their life. Richard Newton Sherrer Copyright ©2008 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
