Tell someone who caresThe stabbing pains of rejection, The eerie silence of brokenness, The vile raving reaching for revenge. Will you listen? No! Tell someone who cares. Relationships broken in bitterness, Aspirations broken like waves on a rock, Life's deepest hopes fading as a vapour. Will you listen? No! Tell someone who cares. Wagging tongues stab the heart, Queer looks drive me into hiding, Shameful gossip ruins my name. Will you listen? No! Tell someone who cares. An aching body, now slow to move, Sleep mocks with each tick of the clock, Exhausted like a deflated balloon. Will you listen? No! Tell someone who cares. Then I was glad, I found hope, The lord heard my simple prayer, In my brokenness, this was his vow, I'll never ever leave you alone. Did he listen. Yes! I told someone who cares. Amidst sorrow and desperate anxiety, His salvation brings amazing relief. His promises ease those deep hurtful pains, Yes, he truly listens, You too can tell Him through prayer. Thank you dearest Lord Jesus Christ, Eternally God of creation, yet my friend, Understanding my pains for you also wept, Thank you for listening, I glorify the one who always cares. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Psalm 116 I love the Lord for he hears and answers my prayers, He bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I have breath. Death had its hands around my throat, The terrors of the grave overtook me, I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord, ‘Please Lord, save me!' How kind the Lord is! How good the Lord is! So merciful this God of ours! Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
