Today is a day I could not miss
To send my childhood friend a birthday wish
For with each passing year you grow dearer to me
Even if time doesn't allow much time for chatting
You remain in my heart very close
For you are my longest friend God chose
I know we didn't meet by chance
For our friendship bloomed at first glance
We've shared so very much throughout the years
Along with much laughter and sometimes tears
But through it all we've not been far apart
For you are tied closely within my heart
I pray only blessings will come your way
And joy and love to fill this special day
For I can't think of anyone more deserving than you
For all God's peace and happiness I pray too

For this friendship bond nobody could break
Since we first met it has been give and take
I really do miss the times that we often emailed
But God has put me on another trail
To minister to all the broken hearted
He now guides my steps as each day is started
So even if time doesn't allow us to chat very often
Forever you remain in my heart not forgotten
Since we were just twelve years old you're like a Sister
You remain in my thoughts as I go forth to minister
