In this uncertain and dangerous world,
Where life is cheap and cruelty is unfurled,
Once peaceful nations now at war,
No way to tell what may be in store.
We in the U.S. have seen our ground shaken,
Ancient enemies now are awakened,
Thinking they can intimidate us into submission,
But we are Americans, and they don't know the definition.
We have something that they don't know,
We have each other and together stand toe to toe,
We have our government, our weapons, our science,
But most of all we have our stubborn defiance.
Opposing what others in the world would tear down,
Running their leaders into the ground,
Hiding in their holes they stare out and fear,
Knowing our warfighters ever are near.
Our young men trained to ferret them out,
Finding their holes, attacking with a shout,
Eliminating the scum from the face of the earth,
Defending our home, the place of our birth.
Supporting our brave and wonderful warfighter,
Trying to make their loads just a little bit lighter,
Providing them with whatever they need,
Insuring that they will always succeed.
In this world of worries and woe,
There is one thing you should always know,
Our brave soldiers that protect us today,
Deserve all the praise that we can convey.
They risk their lives and some give this too,
So you and I can begin life anew,
These soldiers deserve all we can give,
For those that died, yes, but also for those who live.
We owe them our lives, our comforts at home,
We owe them homage wherever they roam,
They are the reason that America is strong,
We should honor them daily in word and song.
