Period Piece ii

Fourpence for the footman
Who orders the coals
Sixpence to the clergyman
Who prays for our souls
A ha'penny to the boy
Who black leads our grates
Another  ha'pence to his brotyher
Who opens the carriage gates
Assorted ha'pennies
To other servants one and all
Who keep us in comfort
Here in the Manor Hall
Ninepence to each tradesman
To try and keep them sweet
Ensuring the supply
Of our  fine wines and meat
Dinner for the High Sherriff
Who has the ear of the King
Obeisance to His Majesty
And that's nearly everything
Except praise to The Good Lord
That in His infinite ways
He keep me fit and wealthy
For the rest of my days
Amen
Amen
