a warriors prayer

                                       A WARRIORS PRAYER

Oh heavenly father, I am a warrior that comes to you on bended knee
My heart is filled with fear and anguish. For at sunrise on the morrow
I will be engaged in a great battle, with an enemy I know naught of.

Lord, let your hands encompass me as the armor of my body. Your love and
Mercy be the helmet and plume upon my head, your kindness ____ my shield.
May my lance fly as true as an eagle's flight, my arrows aim as true as David's
Sling. My sword be firm and strong in my hand. Let me be as wise as Solomon
So my orders and judgments cause no harm to my comrades around me.

If I should fall in battle lord, take my soul hurriedly, let it not feel the pain of a
Warriors' death. Let me feel the warmth and solitude of my father's kingdom.
If I am victorious____ replace the fear and anguish in my heart, with kindness
And mercy. If my enemy is wounded, let me clean and dress his wounds so he
Will not be in pain. If he be thirsty, let him slake his thirst from my canteen.
Yet above all lord, let me be the messenger, of the living water of your word.
Let his soul be saved, his sins forgiven, so he will know that you are the one
                And only true living god.

I ask these things to be done, in the name of my beautiful savior, whom I love
                Dearly.

                Amen    amen
