Reaching Ones DreamsAt a very early age We learn one step at a time- Not looking back or too far ahead And all usually ends up fine- So many in life give up on their dreams Almost always when they're almost there- Not believing in them or them selves This thought I find so hard to bare- Just a little short of brilliance A lot feel they will never make it- It's a chance in a life time It's only up to you to take it- Never listen to all of whom Tell you they know the way- As if they did you would see their glow And they would not have to say- Some they dream for wealth to be And for that big dream to one day call- But dreaming for this kind of thing Has them often the loneliest of all- Climbing steps and never giving up on dreams Goes just so far back in time and ages- So many they believed in them selves ever so And never once gave up through all the stages- Searching for that one true love Hoping so it you one day will find- Taking your time and believing in your heart And you just could know that dream divine- Such patience needed by the seeker The squeaky wheel often get the grease- Keep on always keeping on towards that dream Never in life let your searching cease- One step at a time all the time as you go Keep your soul depth dreams be yours alone- Never mind any who call you the dreamer As one day your dreams will all come home- It took me a life time never giving up And I too thought at times I'd never find- That one thing I always dreamed of so And now after all her very heart is mine- Terrence Michael Sutton copyright 2008 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
