Observing on

Faeries – Observing on

He finally found his sanctuary
Beneath a stand of great trees
And there he slept for many years
Lulled by a leaf song full  breeze

Until anguish
And despair
Pierces his trance
Makes him aware
Agony of the stand
Almost complete
As weeping earth
Succumbed to concrete
And a planet
Being choked to death
Loses even more of
It's renewing breath
A call of despair sent winging
Across interstellar space
Destruction is rife
And fast gathering pace

The last trees fallen to steel blades
The ancient stand irreversibly gone
The observer completes his report
Turns his back and silently moves on
