Even the word brings people pain
Feeling guilty for messing up again Is doing good deeds the solution? There must be a way of restitution How does sin come about anyway? What can you do to make it go away? Perhaps, you think by obeying the Law Then you will overcome your flaws In a society that focuses on you and me It is hard to understand and clearly see That doing good deeds will never pay For the bad things that you do each day There are things in life you cannot change Your genetics, family background, and age Sin is a part of us the moment we are born God provided a way to escape all the scorn My friend, you see, sin has only one remedy Jesus came to earth, the cross as His destiny His purpose was to fulfill God's divine plan He gave His life to pay the penalty for man But there is more to this great and true story Jesus is not dead, He rose again in victory Without His resurrection, there is no hope What is the answer, how can anyone cope? The solution is found when you realize You are a sinner, guilty in God's eyes By faith, believe Jesus died for your sin Through His blood, He cleanses within It is an inner voice that reveals truth to you Now you have a choice in what you will do Accept His free gift, you have eternal hope Reject His offer, your life hangs by a rope How will you respond to Him today? Are you ready for the Judgment Day? Will you spend eternity in heaven or hell? Not sure? Find out where you will dwell © Carol Salter 10/11/08 Vote for this poem
