Poetry For Everyday People

Election  2008

For the people
who don't think
race is a factor
in this election
it maybe time
to come out
of the bubble,

racist aren't voting
for Obama.

you know the ones,
they tell racist jokes
by the office cooler,
at the local bar,

then we got the white hoods,
they love Hitler, but aren't
called terrorists,
you know them?
we harbor them,
many many hate groups
with web sites, organized,
responsible for horrific
acts of violence,
you may have heard of them?
we harbor them,
the problem is:
freedom of speech
does not include violence,

freedom of speech is me writing,

so yeah, it should be
about issues, but
some people can't
get past exteriors
long enough to learn
or make an informative decision,
that's why bumper sticker lines
are used by those who have
no solutions,

the greed for power
is the dirtiest job,
and if you think race
isn't an issue:

it maybe time
to come out
of the bubble,

or google
the state of our
division
and fight
to unite us.
