One of a kind............
I lived with some guys for several years,
And friends, I know I have made.
Some others I'd rather not see again,
Though I did carry on the charade.
For some, I'd have given my life for them,
And their lives, they'd have given for me.
We'd have stuck together through thick and thin,
Through friendship and loyalty.
I ate with them, and slept with them,
Even shared my last cigarette.
I even fought along side some of them,
For these guys I shall never forget.
For a soldier who's loyal, strong and true,
Like no other you will find.
The British squaddie, best bar-none,
And certainly one of a kind.
