Never Again

Never Again
Never again do I want to come so close
To losing the one in my life that means the most
The one who stands so faithfully by my side
And put up with my foolish macho pride
The one who loves me more that any other
A world without her, I don't want to discover
I could only imagine and tremble in fear
My life at this moment without her hear
Too many times I've made costly mistakes
Each one causing her tender heart to break
And yet through a grace I do not deserve
She stands with me ready to serve
Never again will I cover up or try to hide
Or fool myself in to telling her a lie
Nor trade my pleasures for her pain
Knowing full well I have nothing to gain
Others may risk and gamble with fools
But she is a treasure I can't afford to lose
There is no replacing what she is to me
Never again will I come close enough to see
Hear my words you foolish inner man
This is the day wisdom takes a stand
And the wise cannot be tempted with anything less
Knowing the worth of having the best
Never again will she wipe from her eyes
Tears that I have made her cry
She will have the man that she deserves
Honest, true, loving, and ready to serve
