Poetry For Everyday People

Don't Divide Us Hank

Mornings come easy
when you don't betray
yourself, mirrors also,

if you don't stand
for what you believe
you're not alive,

Hank Williams Jr.
changed his song
family tradition
to Mccain Palin tradition,
this was a song
I and friends
have drank beers
listening too, a song
we played early in the mornings
on our way to go fishing,

so I wrote one back
to him, it's called
"Your Right Hank Is Wrong",

I don't care much
for people who try
to divide us, we can
disagree and still
drink a cold beer together,

respecting political views
is the way it should be,
I am not interested
in fighting you
because we both want
two different people
as our next president,

but don't wink at me
and lie,

and expect me
to pretend too.
