THE DOVE IS SLEEPING

While the dove of brotherly love is sleeping
Indifference - creeps over the earth
The willow - notorious for it's weeping
Is browning & mouring it's birth

The grass of the meadows is stunted & dry
And flowers - where have they all gone?
Gray mist above - where once was the sky
No bright sun is seen at the dawn

Oh beautiful dove - awake from your rest
Go carry your message to all
Clean up this pollution & do your best
Or our world will die from it all
