 Footsteps...Barack Obama/John McCain
Footsteps…

Change is inevitable, history tells us through experience. Congratulations to the candidates in a race where this great country decided by popular and electoral vote of our future. My choice is my vote and yet viewing both candidates speech there is so much to be grateful for. I have to say that John McCain put his honor and heart to the test and as a soldier gave a speech where one can study and realize ...He is a Soldier and Patriot and no one can take that away from him. I salute his courage in his loss and I congratulate Obama in his victory. Both have become a part of history and we will always remember their love of country. Barack Obama has reached a goal that truly is significant. We should all view this election as a great step for the United States and join together to create that spirit which has brought us to this moment of History. As a United States citizen I feel it just and fair to give praise to both candidates with these two poems …God Bless us all.

Barrack…
We are more today than
Yesterday
Even as time stands still and the wolves howl
Change is inevitable and has arrived
Is it glorious or destiny?
The nation divided with pride
Listening we shiver and cry
Wondering…
No need for the world understands
Freedom and democracy have their pedestal
Carried across the oceans from sea to shining sea
Change crossing barriers with simple words
Memories and history meeting  to decide
The past is the past
Those tears are for the fallen
And for he who stands among the many
We can overcome as a people and country
We can unite to rise from the fall
We can be whole and understand
We can forgive so as to know ourselves
Yes
We can reach goals in the land of opportunity
We can see past our faults to enjoy life
We can strive to make this world a better place
Yes
We can see past the color of black white or brown
We can seek to be all that we can be
We can join hands in labor to create peace and love
Yes we can…
Let us give, so as to receive
Together…

John…
History and man glorified the day
As wounds healed and became visible
The past is but the entire understanding of mine
While the Unknown Soldier weeps
Rain blesses and cleans the earth
Unknown the soldier guarded by comrades
For their gratitude seen by eyes of reality
Time handed the unfortunate exclamation
Footsteps in the night…
Prisoner to a war unjust among millions
Yet the heart of a countryman is inevitable
Accepting fate and understanding
Together from the soul of dedication
Words to honor and speak truth
His alone is the life made by giving his all
To share tragedy and despair
Crippled but not defeated
One can make of it your choice
Though it is surely courage that I see
Character that comes from solitude and faith
Hope where all is lost
Footsteps into the sunset
Saluting his peers even in loss
For no man can say
He wavered when the limelight faded
To praise others and to ensure
Support
Where is this tolerance from?
The simplicity is right before us
Soldiers are our heroes
They know of God and country
And so as the tears flow
Let us acknowledge
As the Unknown Soldier weeps
Under the guard of his comrades
One soldier gave it his all
And he is a better man
In my eyes…
