 Trip to Oblivion
Visions of cotton candy
Against the void,
the abyss of death
Echo in eternity
To children who have gone
Deaf
 As white snakes
Charm their senses
Away from them
Instead of the other way around.
We see it,
But stare blankly
Entombed human beings
On their way in gleaming
Metal containers
Must get to nowhere
On time.
Mr. Apathy has robbed them
And no one has noticed
The colors have been stolen
From their clothes
And their smiles
Are nowhere to be found
Not anymore
Eyes are covered in black plastic
Reflections of the void
In their hearts
They look anywhere
But at each other
And smile only
When eyes meet and lock
On accident,
And the crease
On their face
Isn't joy
But an apology
For the intrusion
On the journey to
The abyss they are on together
It's the closest they
Will likely get.
