The Battle Scars Within

The Battle Scars Within

The battle scars run so very deep within
For the majority of our brave women and men
There's been a lack of honor shown to all of you
For the selfless and sacrificial acts you went through

Down through the years you've fought for our freedom
Yet your sacrifice has been taken for granted for some reason
Thousands upon thousands have given their life for our country
At times there's been a call of withdraw that robs them of true victory
Photobucket
Those that make it home usually are not the same
For not only did they battle the enemy but now their rights to claim
Benefits fall short as they and their family struggles to survive
Pictures of the war and friends lossed replay in their minds
Photobucket
Some are given awards for certain bravery
All should be given awards if you ask me!
For the battle scars daily they have within
Unseen to the naked eye and the average civilian
Photobucket
I want to take this time to honor every one of you
For the ongoing sacrifice and loss you go through
No greater love does a man give than his life for another
With your service and this possibility ,
I salute you my sisters and brothers
Photobucket
The media only shows clips falling short of the full truth
Of the awesome heroe that lives inside of every one of you
For your sacrifice on the battlefield never comes to an end
For the battle scars remain planted deeply within

John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Mark 12:29-31
29 And Jesus answered him,
The first of all the commandments is,
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind,
and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.

Proverbs 10 :12
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
