Forest of Cries
Dark unpleasantness crisscrossing good and evil
Delving between the trees and mist where...
Sorrow lingers beside lost souls - And
Cries are like echo's reverberating along...
Solitary paths, where once open footsteps trod...
Passing between trees which hang like towers
Guarding, protecting like an army of giants
Projecting deep shadows across lonely pathways
Forming an archway and a marriage of their branches
To ensemble all who come before them en mass...
As the wind crawls through the midnight forest
Swirling up leaves and cries from beyond the beyond
Eyes are alight with gleeful cheer and willingness
Howling bellows around the ancient oaks as the mist...
Gathers up anything and everything within its way -
The village doors are locked, bolted and fires burn fiercely
No one enters the forest at night, that's has it is...
They hear the sounds echoing throughout the village
It shakes and trembles with a resounding fear each heart beat feels
They know out there dark and unpleasantness lurks
They know out there is the forest of cries...
