Memories

The morning comes and you're not here once more
though I still reach out as though you are here
then closing my eyes I think of past memories
but mostly it just brings back more tears.
There was so little time that was truly happy between us
though we did try and then cried… as we fought
it seemed that love was an image of what life could really be
but it was lust and mistrust that we caught.
I could have loved you forever then added a lifetime
for your beauty was so beautiful to me
but living with my anger…while trying to surrender
loving you was just not to be.
There are some memories of you that still make me smile
like the many times we walked by the sea
so sexy, so beautiful you were all I ever wanted
and everything… so special… to me.
Now I am older with my memories getting fainter
your memory… stills warms my old heart
the tears I will cherish till my life will perish
it was worth it to play this small part.
