assist the elderly with
no strength left in age,
transport the youth endowed woman
doubled over from spoiled leftovers,
disentangle the middle aged man
from a mistaken split second
touch of right pedal at the yellow,
teach the innocent still in awe of bright red
importance of stop, drop, cover, and roll,
manage the required daily living task
of two loads of laundry,
one sink of dishes,
juggling bill payments,
and an occasional brush
of the broom on a tracked floor,
subtle moments of an entire movie viewed
without unannounced disruption,
filled instead with waltzing
on rain covered tin
illuminated by crimson and indigo flashes,
an understanding held only
by those who share the same,
giving a reality that it isn't
for recognition or reward
but to give for the purpose
of unattached giving.
