Wolves Killed Three
Wolves killed three of my neighbors sheep last Sunday afternoon
the scene they left was horrid it could make a grown man swoon
I know some love the wolf and think that this is fine
I know they couldn't give a damn if what is lost is mine
Tomorrow if that same old wolf, kills their dog or cat
they would demand he be destroyed or even more than that
I'm big and tough and rugged and not afraid to die
but when I see a scene like this it makes me want to cry
One young ewe who did not die had flesh ripped from her face
gaping holes in her side showed her heart in place
I watched my friend, tears in his eyes, shoot to stop her pain
I wonder if those who want the wolf, even have a brain
