Thanksgiving PrayerLord, forgive me when I take for granted Everyday things for which I am blessed Life is not easy, You remain in control Renew a heart of gratitude in my soul So many people lack enough food to eat Or good shoes to wear on their cold feet Still for others, homelessness is the norm Seeking shelter to survive and stay warm I am grateful I have a job and ability to work In the challenges I face, change my outlook Help me through inventory with extra stress Strengthen me daily to find in You my rest For the health I do have, I give You praise Every breath I take is from You all my days Keep me disciplined to maintaining goals In every area, to develop more self-control Psalm 100:4 (NIV) Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. © Carol Salter 11/18/08 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
