NOTE: This poem was written in response to another
poem I read, in which the writer did not show respect
for human life. I am pro-life and certainly believe
every unborn baby is created by God and deserves to
be born. The only exception for abortion should
be if the mother's life is at risk. God does not
make mistakes; it is people who make wrong choices

In the society we live in today
I keep hearing other people say
By having a pro-choice view
It is their opinion and right too
Yes, God gives us a free will
To choose right or wrong still
God knows all of your actions
Sees every excuse and reaction
A story you write may be fiction
Without referring to an abortion
The meaning is very evident there
About scared teenagers everywhere
To say the person took their own life
Committing suicide to end all strife
Results in two murders in God's eyes
Do not be deceived by justifying lies
Using the word "it" to describe a baby
Or the term parasite really lacks dignity
God created the unborn life from day one
It will grow to become a daughter or son
God used an unwed teenager named Mary
Ridiculed as a virgin, she was very ordinary
To bear God's Son in a lowly stable of hay
Is that the way for a King to be born that day?
If an angel came to you today, just like Mary
Would you consider ending its life anyway?
I hope not, so if that was wrong in God's sight
Why should abortion be your choice and right?
Wake up, young teenage girls everywhere
Being pregnant is not an easy burden to bear
Please know you don't have to face it alone
Seek help before any decision of your own
