Give ThanksAnother year has drawn as near We come together sadly I fear We miss the point of why were here Breaking of bread is what appears We toast with glass of wine and spirit Forgetting grace where some won't hear it It seems a shame how we forget How good it is, how bad we get Don't mean to rain on your parade Thanksgiving is what seems to save The best of meals to gorge ourselves Yet less we feed a soul that dwells Dormant to him yet wide awake Living our lives and Him forsake Even when grace is said and done Return unsaved and CHRIST we shun Do more this year, give thanks sincere To one who made this day and year For you to have, to celebrate This feast for eyes, that you partake Give thanks for those you share this day For it won't always be this way Give thanks and speak if just a word Of Him who made whats not occurred To you He loves who fails to thank The GOD of all, to Him give thanks May all of my poetic friends on this site share more than a meal this holiday..
