Pride Births Self Righteousness

Pride Births Self Righteousness

There's been so much loss we fail to recall
Jesus' pain ,His suffering and agony for us all
Each human being was made to love
To walk in this commandment from God above

Yet there seems to be a shortage of this emotion
For people's lack to receive through God's devotion
This love commandment was not a suggestion
It's the only way to fulfill mankind's salvation

Our God is love and He represents life
False gods condone death, hate and strife
Our God is Jehovah the Alpha and Omega
In fact He's the very God that created one's Allah

The holy bible is His word and truth
It's contents will manifest to guide you
God even created satan but his pride made him fall
Grace is given only to the humble I recall

It is by the grace of God that we are saved
Not by works or manmade rules or their own doctrine
God Himself never organized any denomination
It's a personal relationship with Jesus that seals our salvation

Lest a man be born again he will not enter heaven
Without Jesus and the holy spirit you'll be sin driven
For the holy spirit is your conscience and guide
Walking in the spirit and not the flesh gives eternal life

Giving your will up for His Will to be done
Is the only way you'll enter into God's kingdom
Having self pride and self will condemned satan
We are to humble ourselves and know we are nothing without Him

Pride will conquer humility in one's life
You can't be prideful and humble at the same time
For every gift you have was given by God
To not give Him the glory brings it to nought

It's okay to take pride in a job well done
As long as you give credit to the one it came from
If you say I'm proud of myself that is a sin
For you then make it about yourself and not Him

For it is written In all you do,do it as unto Him
To take pride in " Yourself " is an abomination
His word says to humble yourself and
He will exalt you in due time
It was satan exalting himself that brought sin on all mankind

Even Jesus humbled Himself to do God's Will
To make a way for our salvation to fulfill
A perfect example of let the mind of Christ be in you
To be clothed with righteousness by putting on Christ too

It's pride that births hate and seperation
God hates pride for it kills love's foundation
If all mankind obeyed the love commandment
The fulfillment of God's agape love
would be done as He planned it

Layman Bible Dictionary defines Pride and Humility

Pride - Arrogance, vanity or conceit. This sin results in self righteousness.
Luke 18:11-14
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Jeremiah 49:16  Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.

Humility - The opposite of arrogance and pride, and attitude which grows out of the recognition that all we are and everything we own are gifts from God.

I have shared many scriptures here for those they may want to read some or all, there is many references meant to teach and shed light upon. God Bless you one and all for the time you take in reading what God has laid on my heart to share.

Phil.2:8-11

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Rom.12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

1 Peter 5:5-6

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Job 40:11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

Psalm 40:4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Prov.16:5  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

Prov.21:4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

Luke 18:14  I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

James 4:6-8 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Luke 14:11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

2 Chron. 36:12 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.

Prov.15:33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Prov.29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Matt.18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Psalm 9:12 When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

Psalm 10 :2 -4,7,11-12,17

2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.

4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

12 Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

Psalm 12:3-4

3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

Prov. 30:32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

Prov.31:30-31

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
