 If Looks Could
I should have refused you
But I was lost and tired.
I could have confused you
With the cost much higher
You looked at me
A suggestion of a smile
I looked away
Retribution for denial.

At the seams of the story
Curiosity nags
In the dreams of the glory
Singularity lags.
You looked at me
A hazy shade of scared
I looked away
A crazy dream that dared.

Moving without conscience thought
The fair maiden rescued
The shiny knight distraught
A fairy tale imbued
You looked at me
With a ghost of a smile
I looked away
For just a little while.
