 George Dubya Bush

I had began a poem about Dubya, but then I realized,
That in this realm of politics I feel so out of my element.
I hit the backspace key until the thoughts had been erased;
Or had they, as they rush back into my mind now as I sit.

In arrogance this nation has been led for the last seven years
Down the path that separates us from the brotherhood of others.
Alone, yet strong, like a gunslinger from the days of our old west;
This power comes through fear and intimidation of our enemies.

We wonder why we have lost our respect in the world community
As Dubya has given absolutely no credence to any other viewpoints.
The karmic debt that we have incurred is as big as the state of Texas,
As the repercussions will be felt for many generations down the line.

Our grandchildren will grow old still  feeling the waves of Dubya's actions;
The question of whether right and wrong I cannot begin to answer.
I only feel the intentions from the heart of this administration's policies,
As their power has made them to big for their britches, they have became a bully.

Do what we say and dance our dance or we will send in our bombers,
In only seventeen minutes we can kick your insolent asses, so beware;
The power and might of the USA will make you obey our truth,
As God and Country go hand in hand, walking into the raging inferno.

Pride has overtaken and ensnared him within its web of destruction,
Dubya will not believe that the trap is real, as he in his power can brush it aside.
For our nation is the only superpower on this earth and no man dares stand up to us,
The few rebels that do Dubya takes his backhand and slaps him across the earth.

I wonder if our next President will be able to free us from thus snare,
Without the backlash of vengeance from those that were oppressed.
Memories run long and hurts don't heal just because Dubya is gone,
As the glimmer of gold in America is gone for now, it is replaced with cold steel.
