Uninvited Visitors

There are cities beneath the sea
Where weathered women stand watch
Their bony feet buried in the sand
Like plovers
Eyes jet black
And hair like sea weed
Long and flowing
They face the wind
Unbroken,
And the shoreline
Where things wash up
From around the other side
Things that don't belong down here
Things that should stopped
Cold on the beach
For they can never return
To speak of this
