Destiny
From a dream I received clarity on this subject last night,
As this has befuddled me for many a years.
How can my destiny be laid out for me before my birth,
Yet still have freedom of choice in my life.
The eternal present moment is the realm of God.
This is outside the linear timeline that we know in this vessel of clay.
As in it the future is present as is our past, now I am completely known;
Yet this knowledge doesn't challenge my right to choose.
It is only that my choice is already known even before this birth;
My destiny is laid out before me so I can walk with confidence.
I am known more fully than I know myself, as this is the richness of God.
My contacts and life can be arranged in order to fulfill the purpose of my life.
As this fullness of knowledge gives Him the wisdom to shuffle the deck,
Yet still know the face of every card… God can't be surprised.
I can now walk knowing that God has worked out the best plan possible,
Within the choices I make as my destiny is engraved in stone.
I will fulfill the purpose of my life, for there is no way that it is possible.
The completeness of this walk can not be detoured no matter the choice I make.
When I come to a fork in the road, I must decide my path wisely;
But God knew the choice I will make and created the way within His laws.
This doesn't excuse me from making wise choices as the quality of life is contained within.
It doesn't excuse me from trying to reach higher even when I perceive I fail.
For the victories and the failures are already known, as are my reactions.
Live for God within the freedom He gives, confident that His care is fully complete.
