An Out Back Over Night  Visitor

Boundary rider checking fences
Rides in the cool of moonlit night~
Came across a fellow in camp
As fellow sat by fire light~
The fellow by camp fire sat
Light flickered upon trees in dance~
Brighter ,,duller,,brighter once more
Light changing causing momentary trance~
The fellow by camp fire still sat
A shape in darkness and silhouetted rest~
His billy was almost on the boil
In his little out back camp beyond the crest~
Joined by boundary rider now
A very short G Day~
Pointing towards the billy boiling there
And to a near fire side log rider makes his way~
A mug of tea a smoke and then
Thanks .. the very short reply~
Rider mounts, rides away, as fellow smokes on
After simply and only nodding a good by~
Fellow never ever seen again
Camp and fellow were not ever to be found~
When boundary rider came back next day
Not a single sign of a camp or fellow upon the ground~
