Attitude of Gratitude
I am counting the blessings of my life with eyes that see the whole picture;
Looking into the depths of my world, I see the touch of God everywhere.
The improbability of my very existence causes me to stop and give thanks.
My heart expresses an attitude of gratitude.
I used to be a whiner and complainer as I blamed others for my problems.
When I looked to seek a scapegoat, thankfulness ceases to exist,
As I found someone to pin all the troubles of my world on.
My heart lost the attitude of gratitude.
This way of communion with life always brings a disconnection from God's love.
I fussed and fumed, I lost my bearings, I only wanted to curse my days.
But when the light of my soul conquered this place of focusing outwardly,
My heart began to return to an attitude of gratitude.
I have sought and found a better way of looking at the problems in my life.
To see all things working together for my good knowing that God is in charge.
In this way no matter whatever happens and enters my world, I accept it.
I now live with a heart now full of an attitude of gratitude.
This is not a surrender to whatever assails me within this day,
Instead, it is the power to come into alignment with the universal plan for me.
As God reaches into my soul and blesses me with new eyes to see,
My heart sees with an attitude of gratitude.
Give thanks and search for the spirit of love in all that is.
See the blessings in every moment of your life.
God has given us such a precious gift,
A heart beating with an attitude of gratitude.
