Looking Out to Sea
I am walking down this shoreline looking out to sea;
I stop and look all around, I'm alone, it's only me.
The sun is rising on a bold new day across this land;
Waves come crashing as high tide creeps up the sand.
I sea a flock of seagulls feeding, listening to their cries;
Searching the horizon of the Atlantic, looking to the skies.
I was alone walking on this shore, wishing you were here;
Sensing your presence within my heart, bringing you near.
Now sharing this moment with you, looking at this new day;
Morning has broken the darkness, within my heart I can say.
My friend, you are held tightly within my heart and mind;
As the gulf between us is bridged, our lives are intertwined.
