When we first met
And I looked into your eyes I didn't know what it was, That fluttering inside ~That was when I saw What I'd been looking for; Someone to show me the way, Take the key, open the door Everything hazy, Your voice reverberating in my head I've never known such life, Before, I must have been dead ~My world spins off its axis, You're all that can keep me steady But I didn't know what I stumbled into; I wasn't ready It crushed me, When I saw The undead skeletons in your closet; You wouldn't give up your old ways, Something tangible, this love wasn't But yet, here I stand, Still waiting for you to claim me… It's because of what I saw, in you, That I can't simply walk away Love became something real, When I saw what we could be… Look me in my eyes now, And tell me you don't see the same thing When I saw your soul, that day, I couldn't control the bliss, pure passion But now I've seen something hiding within, Keeping you from wanting this to happen ~All I do is hope and dream, Trying to see what I saw before But it's so far away, blurry and dark, Making me want it ever more Vote for this poem |
