A Little Here A Little ThereI've never been the richest man Not like some could say- That they are and have been Along life's longest way- But my father taught me lots In the way he was within his soul- He helped so many people along the way That were caught out in the cold- Never asking for credit for same At times they never even knew- Where that hamper came from That was left on a back step true- I have often done as he would Have Me do if he was still around- A little here a little there To help a few over time cover ground- Christmas it is coming soon Better for some then others true- Time to sincerely help someone Along the way to make it through- Might be an older bloke upon a bench An elderly lady with a bag of old- Some soul you just might come across That could use a blanket in the cold- It could be only a smallest ever deed But to them more than we could know- A little here a little there It well could help them ever so- Christmas time is right around the corner And for some the saddest time of year- A little here a little there Well could just bring a little cheer- Terrence Michael Sutton copyright 2008 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
