Charity

In remembrance for Rhys Jones, murdered aged 11;
with respect and sadness for his parents, and the
people of Liverpool.

The murder trial is over
I saw on the news today
The memory of that victim
Will not go away

Justice has been done
The bereaved father said
The murderer only got prison
His victim son is still dead

I could not show that charity
For no matter how I try
There are times I think it right
To demand an eye for an eye
