 Penniluck's legacy

The Gift Of Age

To my husband John on his 70th birthday love always Penni xxx

Remember back when we were young
All those crazy songs we sung
Some sad, some happy, some between
Time has passed just like a dream

Long hair, two inch platform shoes
Growing older, paid your dues
Guitars strumming down through time
Glad my dear that you are mine

Parties, laughter, lots of fun
We did live life on the run
Now you`ve reached that special age
Fearful as you turn the page

Gone around the world and seen
All the things you might have been
Nothing stopped you, beat it all
Now you`re set to have a ball

Yes, at three score years and ten
You can start it all again
As you wander day to day
Never let me hear you say

You are getting far too old
Elder Street is paved with gold
Much better, yes in many ways
For youth wastes away its days

Age can help us see the truth
Much more than that callow youth
We gather each and every minute
And live each second that is in it
