Deck The Halls With Love

Merry Christmas

Time is quickly slipping away and Christmas this year
has seemed so very hard for me to find.

My tree tonight, sets in the middle of my livingroom,
still within its box and waiting for my heart to find
a way to bring it to life. Presents still waiting
to be bought, wrapped, and placed under it.

I wanted to bring something brand new to thank
all of you that have become my friends and have
accepted Aspiring and myself so warmly since
we have entered here.

It seems though, that time has once again gotten away
from me. I have decided to bring you a bit of a Christmas
past from my home to yours, in hopes you will find
a smile or two on me, for your Christmas 2008.

I bring you now to our home, as Christmas 2006 began
to unfold to become a very special Christmas for my family.

After falling, decorated, four different times
this little tree started my decorating frenzy.
It was really starting to get the better of me!

The last time it fell, it stayed down for three days!
I'd just walk by it and snarl.
(Well, only a little snarl. LOL)

Then the ...
''You are not going to win this round''
attitude took over

Let the snowballing begin!

The tree finally did stand, propped against
the back of our fireplace mantel.
It did light. It's just that half of the lights
would twinkle and the other half would just glare at me.

If they were all twinkling . . . The star would not light.
Definitely a Christmas tree that will be remembered.

So the tree won't stand?
Well let's see, the TV looks rather drab.

Oh no, now the corner seems empty!

One thing led to another . . .

The mess grew as treasures were unwrapped
and little by little Christmas began to shine
with more and more of this and that being
added as the days moved forward.

The tree had created an Aspiring Angel 'Frankenstein'
that was in far too deep to turn back now.

Out came the Christmas toys of years ago
and a few new ones to join the parade for Joseph.

This little dog became Kim's from my Mom
when she was just about Joseph's age.

This little guy is mine!!!!
My Mom gave him to me for Christmas
several years ago now.

Aspiring Angels like soft and cuddly puppies too!! LOL

My Tinker knew to stay out of the way
when Mom went into one of her crazy decorating modes.

Through it all though, she sat and watched me
as each night it became harder for Grandpa
to find a clear path through the house, always
asking me ''Aren't you about done?''

I know she was kitty praying not to have
a Christmas bow come at her.

This year after twelve years she will
no longer be with us. She was a part of this
origional Christmas post and I could not
bare to leave her picture out.

She will be missed by us all,
but held forever in our hearts.

The fish? . . .
They were not so lucky!

Finally . . . Christmas morning
and very soon all the aggravation,
tiredness, and planning
was to become all worth while.

My Mom was with us after a two year
separation of hearts. This picture
of her Hersh and our Joseph
will be forever treasured.

In looking back on my memories I have found
a bit of Christmas past and a spark of hope
to find Christmas present.

The reason for the season never
to be forgotten in our home.

From me and mine to you and yours
Thank you so much for visiting my home of
Christmas past.

May your Christmas be filled with joy and love
and your New Year find hope and promise.

Merry Christmas everyone with my love,
Lesa
