To My Soul's Delight
A child's innocent smile, a dog's wagging tail,
Hog dogs on the grill, cool summer breezes,
A cats gentle purr, my grandson's laugh
A monarch butterfly, squirrels, and rabbits.
Soaring higher than ever before,
Reaching to new heights today.
As life touches my heart,
To my soul's delight.
Tall ripening crops waving in the wind along the road;
Apples hanging from the tree ready for my picking;
My families support during those trying times;
The march of peaceful people around the world.

Seeing two elderly lovers with the fires still burning;
Looking in the mirror at my aging face and just smiling;
Being at peace with the man that I am today;
Without regrets, without disappointment, without sadness.
