The Price of Victory

Silence! No words, no sounds are heard in these parts
That sound vanished years ago, along with childrens laughs
Back in those days of blue skies and shining stars
Now all they have are battle scars!

A monster they called me, a demon of unnameable horror
In which if spoken would bring only slaughter and terror
But it was man who summoned me to appear
To fight against foes, and feed on their fear!

The sound of cries and battle engaged
The clashing of metals of men enraged
Like animals starved, then let out of their cage
But like lambs to the slaughter, they duly obeyed

Flag verses flag, morals versus morals
Stuck is their madness are these mortals
And in their folly they bring forth a ghost
Selling their souls, for those who want it the most!

So now I am here, back on the Earth
Destroying the planet which you know you deserve
You're tears do weep, just like your wounds
Cursing the day, you used the runes!
