Here's to that girl with the laughing eyes
Blue as blue as cornfield summer skies
With the sawn off jeans and sandaled feet
Who proudly strolled along our village street
Turning each and every head on the way
That long past school summer's holiday
Girl of mystery such a walking delight
My gaze followed her on out of sight
Down the street this unknown one
Turned the corner and she was gone
And my world returned bye and bye
Enriched by the girl of the laughing eyes
