 Farewell to Earth

This world is but a stepping stone,
To a brighter land and dreams unknown.
The actions we take, while here below,
Result in deeds we seldom know.

What impact we have on those we love,
Can only be measured in worlds above.
Unplanned action, unseen deed;
Yet souls may suffer and hearts may bleed.

Farewell then, land of cruel birth,
Where corpses grin in ghastly mirth.
Farewell to suffering, pain, and gloom;
Farewell to horror and frightful doom.

I leave this world for a higher plane,
Where no innocents are tortured, nor babies slain.
I long to see new worlds of wonder,
Where no evil lurks, nor mortals blunder.
