 What's Wrong with Me?
What's wrong with me?
That I can watch a story
Unfold
And am so caught up
That the gaping holes
In reality are of no consequence
To the heart of the story
That the heart is the strongest force
In my reality?
In the heart of the story
Is my heart
Beating
Crying
Hoping
Living
To be touched
To touch
You
Me
All of us
Is the world really made better
By questioning a story?
Why is it we don't
Question reality
Or our government
With the same
Tenacity
As we do
A story
A movie
Or ourselves?
Who is better served?
To allow our hearts
To be caught up
In a story
When so many have lost hope
In life
In our country
In our economy?
Or is our world made brighter
Bigger
Or more hopeful
When we allow
A story
Or it's characters
To touch us
Move us
Inspire us?
Maybe there is just something wrong with me
That I question the world
And believe in stories.
