Persevere Our Purpose
We are gathered in a crowd,
Encircled by a great cloud;
Filled with disease and much sin,
Which so readily comes in.
Let us keep running away,
And continuing to pray;
To steer us out of the path,
Lined with the upcoming wrath.
Have our eyes fixed on Christ,
Instead of those things enticed;
By Satan with all his horde,
In keeping us from the Lord.
Our source of faith and guide,
Through desire to abide;
Never having any shame,
Of Jesus and His name.
For all the pain from His loss,
Suffering up on the cross;
For the joy just before Him,
Would stop us from feeling grim.
Give thought what He underwent,
All the hate and discontent;
So not be tired and weak,
For the salvation that we seek.
