Unbelief

O unbelief
My dreams are the paradise not seen
    except through my mind's eye
Stand back O doubt...from this fight!
Your foolish talk comes from the angels of the night
Whose broken wings were destroyed by the burning sun
But I shall attain my paradise in the coming dawn...
    though you try to chain my mind in the unknown,
I shall keep my hope and keep my song!
Which beautiful strength nourishes my faith
    and my inspiration so I can abide...
Now I shall live...because I am alive!
