I sat between the pages of Genesis and Revelation,
To gaze upon a beginning; the creation of mankind
With Adam and Eve I read the garden conversation
As scholars tread the scripture new mysteries to find
~ ~ ~
Feeling each letter of the commandments in stone
As the staff became a snake amid the Exodus pages
The threesome in the fire that were never left alone
From beginning to end, it would astound the sages

I wept inside the secret place of the most high God
Before walking the valley of the shadow of death
I observed the Red Sea as Moses lifted his rod
He obeyed the Almighty, the giver of all breath
~ ~ ~
I listened in reverence as the parables he spake
He rebuked unclean spirits commanding they flee
His death would draw nigh; a lamb at the stake
My God, my God why hast thou forsaken me?
~ ~ ~
I bowed on my knees and to the holies I cried
As the tears began to roll through my sins
The gift of life through the scars in his side
With my God ..... I then made amends
